Would You Like to Take a Tour of My Wood Studio?

As you might guess, I enjoy spending time in my wood studio.

Visit My Woodshop

When I built my woodshop, there were many things to consider. Our yard had a perfect spot, far enough from the house to minimize noise yet close enough for convenience. The solar orientation lets loads of sunlight in. Lots of south-facing glass, including skylights, give the workspace the feel of being outdoors. I vaulted the ceiling to create an expansive, open, airy feel. With the woodstove fired up and the smell of fresh-cut hardwoods in the air, this is a fantastic place to be!

As you saw in the video tour, I stopped trying to keep wood dust off the windows long ago. Instead, I just enjoy the frosted glass look!

An Artwork I Just Finished Creating in My Studio

I named this mirror, “Simply.” In creating this piece, my goal was to use simple, soft lines that allow the viewer to experience the beauty of these trees. The woods become the center of attention.

A Large Table I Made in My Wood Studio

This table was made from a gnarly, century-old maple. It was at the end stage of its life and needed to be taken down.

The table's owner has a great decorating style! Plenty of room for family and friends.
